Hello everyone and happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend. We are having an Indian Summer over here after a few weeks of cooler temps, and I am anxiously awaiting the REAL start of fall (although Nathan reminded me today to not wish away these warm days – he knows how much I despise the winter)! And with that, I’m going to leave you with 21 pictures from the last 4 days.
Thursday involved TONS of food, as I grocery shopped over my lunch break and took the kids to Costco after school. So obviously we were all excited to try out some of the food, and I decided instead of an elaborate dinner we would all enjoy tasting plates. It’s safe to say it was a hit!
Thursday after coming home from back to school night Reagan called for me from her bed, telling me she was itchy. I picked her up and checked her out, finding her entire body covered in super itchy hives. A trip to Walmart for Benadryl, very little sleep, and TONS of worrying later, the hives were gone. At least she was smiling! Note: they came back the next day right after lunch, this time on her face. The doctor told us we may never find out what caused the hives, but thankfully that was the end of it.
Friday was picture day for this handsome dude. Of course, after sending him to school in this outfit I realized he wore the EXACT same outfit for picture day last year. Oops! At least we can do a fun comparison…
My parents were babysitting my 2-year old nephew on Friday, so they stopped by a few times to visit. This kid LOVES being outside, and especially loves rides in the “ranger.”
Reagan had quite the appetite on Friday, and this was from her morning snack! She happily scarfed it all done and proclaimed “my tummy is full – we can play dollies now!”
After getting Graham off the bus the kids decided to play doctor. It’s seriously one of their very favorite things to do!
Saturday morning I woke up bright and early so I could hit the gym, and I had to stop to take a picture of this on my way. Love living in the country!
This was the scene waiting for me at the gym on Saturday. The workout was seriously brutal – I guess my body has adapted to evening workouts, so it was hard to really get going at 7am. But I felt so accomplished when I got home!
Fort town in the living room when I got home. And Graham informed me that Daddy is WAY better at fort building than I am…
Saturday morning was my nephew Colton’s baptism, so we got all fancied up and headed to the church.
LOVE the fact that we can now get pictures where we are all looking at the camera and actually smiling 🙂
Park time after the baptism so the kids could burn some energy.
The result of some ninja warrior training. This matches the road rash on the other side of his back from going over the handle bars on his bike. Maybe we need accident insurance…
Sunday morning circle time in the bathroom while I was getting ready for church. Reagan was the teacher and Graham was her assistant, so he was in charge on making the kids who misbehaved sat in the “magic box.”
Sunday afternoon meal prep. Lunch salads, Graham’s lunches, Reagan’s snacks, hardboiled eggs, sliced fruit, and chopped veggies for Wednesday night’s dinner.
And getting ready to roast veggies and apples for homemade tomato soup and applesauce.
My tomato soup all ready for lunches this week. And a side of a sunflower from our garden.
The kids helped me decorate for the fall, and Graham enjoyed trying on different costumes. This was a flounder (from The Little Mermaid) costume my mom made me when I was in middle school.
And our newest tradition – Sunday afternoon family walk! Graham was checking out Nathan’s deer stand, and Reagan asked if he found any deer up there…
Found a dying oak tree Nathan is super excited to cut and split for firewood.
And Reagan found a slingshot. We are trying to “reclaim” our Sundays as family day. It was a nice day filled with church, meal prep, garden work, and football watching. Go Chiefs!
And with that, I’m going to sign off so I can relax a bit before the week begins. I hope you guys had an amazing weekend, and enjoy the upcoming week!
